To install the Equation Editor Shortcut Bar on your version of Microsoft Word

 

1.  Right click on any icon on the Word toolbar, such as “Save.”  Go to “Customize.”

 

2.  Click on the “Commands” tab. 

 

3.  Under “Categories” on the left, click on “Insert.” 

 

4.  Under “Commands” on the right,  scroll down until you get to “Equation Editor.” 

 

5.  Click and drag the Equation Editor icon to the toolbar.

 

6.  That’s it!  Now when you open a Word document and want to insert Math text, click the Equation Editor icon.  To get out of the Equation Editor graphic, just click anywhere outside the text box or hit "Esc".
